A needle exchange service for injecting drug users has been recently redesigned and established in Stornoway.

This service is provided in partnership with primary care and pharmacy services and is hosted by K.J. MacDonald Pharmacy.  Pharmacy staff have undertaken specialised training in preparation for providing this service and are supported by the NHS Substance Nurse.

The service will be monitored closely to ensure it is best meeting the needs of the clients requiring this service.
